Authentic Leadership Cafe – Dublin – April 29, 2009
Apr 1st, 2009 by Chris
This event will provide amazing networking and learning opportunities for around 100 diverse people with a common interest in the development of authentic leadership in Ireland.
The Change Exploratory is delighted to be working on this event in partnership with a range of great people from organisations including :
Authentic Leadership in Action – www.aliainstitute.org
Burren Leadership Forum – www.burrenleadershipforum.ie
Cultivate Living and Learning Centre – www.cultivate.ie
Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation – www.glencree.ie
Irish Coaching Development Network- www.icdn.ie
The inspiration for this event comes from two places :
Firstly, Canada – The Authentic Leadership in Action Institute (formerly the Shambhala Institute for Authentic Leadership) are absolutely world-leading in the development of leadership and authentic leadership. They have recently announced plans for their first event in Europe to take place in the Netherlands in January 2010 and this Authentic Leadership Cafe is a launch for this work in Ireland.
Secondly, Ireland – as a country, an economy, a society and a physical environment, we are in a spot of bother right now. We need to make strides in developing leaders, our thinking about leadership and our practices of leadership development. This event is about bringing together people who care about this and who have something to contribute and then seeing what we might be able to do. We are not pre-judging the outcome, but we know when you bring together diverse people who care and then design good process, then amazing things can happen.

This sounds like a brilliant event. I hope that I can organise a trip away to attend. I’ve been thinking of heading up country with my girlfriend. Perhaps this is an excuse to get away to something.
